Cihan University-Erbil Extends Scholarship Opportunity in Collaboration with Institute of International Education (IIE) for Sudanese Researcher
Cihan University-Erbil, in collaboration with the Institute of International Education (IIE), offered a scholarship for a Sudanese researcher. This initiative, part of Cihan University-Erbil ongoing commitment to supporting scientists and researchers, is facilitated through the joint programs established between Cihan University-Erbil and the IIE.
The Institute of International Education, based in the United States, administers various programs, including the Scholars Rescue Fund. Within this program, the IIE collaborates with universities and scientific institutions worldwide to extend academic assistance to scholars and academics facing perilous circumstances in their home countries.
Since 2019, Cihan University-Erbil has granted five scholarships to lecturers and researchers from Yemen and Sudan, acknowledging the precarious security situations in their respective countries and their lives are in danger in their own countries. Acting on the recommendation of Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, the Department of International Relations has been directed to facilitate all necessary resources to support the researcher in carrying out his daily work at the university.
Previously, Dr. Allan E. Goodman, Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of International Education, expressed appreciation to Cihan University-Erbil for its collaboration and assistance with the Scientists Rescue Fund program in Erbil.
Established in 1919, the Institute of International Education operates with a vision that international education can contribute to creating a more peaceful and equitable world for scholars. Annually, the institute impacts over 29,000 individuals in 180 countries through a range of programs.
