Cihan University-Erbil Representative Meets with the University Council of Al-Farahidi University to Discuss Academic Collaboration Opportunities
On Monday, April 21, 2025, Assistant Lecturer Mohammed M. Hussein from Cihan University-Erbil conducted an official visit to Al-Farahidi University in Baghdad, where he was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Tareq Hafdhi Al-Khayat, the President of Al-Farahidi University, and Prof. Dr. Muhsin Jaber Jwej, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs. The visit included a formal meeting with the University Council of Al-Farahidi University to explore potential areas for academic collaboration between the two respected institutions.
Held in a spirit of mutual respect and shared academic vision, the meeting provided a platform for comprehensive discussions on establishing formal academic partnerships. These included plans for joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange programs, co-organized scientific conferences, and collaborative curriculum development. Special emphasis was placed on fostering cooperation in critical fields, namely medical and health sciences, as well as biotechnology, where both universities have notable academic strengths.
Both sides emphasized the importance of developing collaborative platforms that contribute to scientific advancement, innovation, and the production of high-quality research outputs. The discussions also addressed opportunities for collaboration in nationally and internationally funded research projects, as well as potential for joint publications in high-impact journals.
This visit represents a significant milestone in Cihan University-Erbil’s ongoing strategy to expand its academic partnerships and build bridges with leading educational institutions across the country. It also reflects Al-Farahidi University’s active role in enhancing inter-university cooperation and its dedication to academic leadership.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to maintain open channels of communication and to work toward signing a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will outline a roadmap for future collaboration.
