Cihan University-Erbil Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the Iraqi Syndicate for Training and Development to Enhance Academic and Professional Cooperation
Expanding academic and professional cooperation with institutions in Iraq is one of the goals of Cihan University-Erbil. On Wednesday, April 10, 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Cihan University-Erbil and the Iraqi Syndicate for Training and Development was signed.
The MoU stems from the shared beliefs of both parties in the importance of institutional partnerships in supporting sustainable development, building human capacity, and enhancing the efficiency of national resources in line with the evolving demands of the labor market. Additionally, this agreement provides a framework for collaboration in training and development, and the implementation of developmental programs designed to enhance the professional skills of students, graduates, and professionals in the academic and administrative sectors.
According to the terms of this agreement, Cihan University-Erbil will host and organize training courses and workshops at its facilities, while the Syndicate will develop the training curricula and provide qualified instructors in coordination with the University. Participants in these programs will receive official certificates jointly issued by both parties to reflect the academic and professional quality of the activities. Under the agreement, Cihan University-Erbil will serve as the exclusive educational partner of the Syndicate within Iraq and will be responsible for the academic accreditation of the certificates issued by the Syndicate, thereby adding official and recognized value to the training outcomes.
The agreement also demonstrates a mutual commitment to promoting joint activities through digital and institutional platforms, highlighting the institutional identities of both parties. Additionally, it includes organizing a free Train-the-Trainer course for university-affiliated candidates.
The MoU was signed on the university campus by Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Kareem Saeed, Vice President for Administrative and Student Affairs at Cihan University-Erbil, and Mr. Mohammed Salim Al-Mousawi, President of the Association, representatives of Cihan University-Erbil and the Iraqi Syndicate for Training and Development, respectively.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Ayad Hazem Hassan, Vice President for Scientific Affairs at Cihan University-Erbil, and Asst. Lecturer Omar Adil Mohammed Ali, Head of the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department at Cihan University-Erbil, who affirmed the significance and institutional support of this strategic partnership.
This agreement represents a significant milestone in the University’s strategy to reinforce its position as a leading institution in higher education and professional training, bridge the gap between theory and practice, and enhance the employability and competitiveness of its graduates both locally and internationally.
