On November 1, 2026, the second day of the Regional Universities Table Tennis Championship officially commenced, marking the beginning of the tournament’s second stage.
This day represented one of the most decisive and competitive phases of the tournament, bringing together all group-stage qualifiers, who demonstrated exceptional skills as they competed for a place in the semifinals.
Under the technical regulations for the second day, matches were played using a single-elimination system, meaning that any player who lost a match was immediately eliminated from the championship.
In this crucial stage, Cihan University-Erbil student Mawlood Asaad Ali faced a student from Charmo University in a highly competitive and tactical match. The Charmo University student started strongly, winning the first set 11–7. However, Mawlood responded with an improved and more organised performance, securing the second set 11–9. In the tense third set, the Charmo University student regained control and claimed an 11–6 victory.
The fourth set proved equally competitive, with both players making tactical adjustments, particularly in their defensive strategies. However, the Charmo University student maintained his momentum and secured the set 11–8, winning the match and advancing to the quarterfinals.
With a final score of 3–1 in sets, the match concluded despite Mawlood Asaad Ali’s outstanding and determined performance, marking the end of Cihan University-Erbil’s participation in this year’s Regional Universities Table Tennis Championship.
