Cihan University-Erbil Students Visit Poland’s Cultural and Scientific Palace
As the new academic year commences at Cihan University-Erbil, a group of our students embarks on a remarkable journey of knowledge enrichment at Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Poland. As part of their educational experience, they recently had the privilege of visiting the renowned Palace of Culture and Science (Palac Kultury i Nauki) in Warsaw, providing them with a unique insight into the country’s rich culture and heritage.
Standing at an impressive height of 231 meters, the Warsaw Palace of Culture and Science, originally constructed during the Polish communist era under the direction of Stalin, has transformed into a thriving cultural hub. Each day, countless individuals visit this architectural masterpiece, admiring its remarkable sculptures that pay homage to prominent figures from the worlds of culture and science. Notably, a statue of the renowned Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus stands proudly at the main entrance.
Today, the Warsaw Palace of Culture and Science ranks as the eighth tallest building globally and the second tallest in Europe. Within its grand halls, visitors can explore a wide array of amenities, including an eight-screen cinema, four theaters, two museums, a library, and even a spacious swimming pool.
Our students from Cihan University-Erbil had the privilege of touring this magnificent building, immersing themselves in Poland’s cultural treasures. On the 30th floor, they were treated to a breathtaking panorama of Warsaw, offering a unique perspective of the city.
In addition to their academic pursuits at Warsaw University of Life Sciences, SGGW, Poland, our students are actively engaging in various artistic, sports, and cultural activities. This multifaceted approach allows them to gain a deeper understanding of Poland’s diverse facets and to foster a broader appreciation of the country’s cultural identity.
