Cihan University-Erbil’s President Formalizes Collaboration with Al-Mustaqbal University through Memorandum of Understanding
To foster academic collaboration, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Al-Mustaqbal University. The agreement was formalized during a visit from a delegation of Al-Mustaqbal University, led by Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific Supervision and Academic Studies at Al-Mustaqbal University.
During the meeting, attended by the Vice Presidents of Cihan University-Erbil, the roadmap for developing relations and scientific exchange was discussed. Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, welcomed the visiting delegation and emphasized the significance of the agreement in enhancing mutual relations and leveraging each other’s expertise. He highlighted the scientific capabilities of Cihan University-Erbil and its achievements in both quality and quantity, particularly in national and international rankings, where it consistently ranks among the top private universities and is a leading institution among both public and private universities in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
In response, the head of the delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University provided a comprehensive overview of their institution. He stated that Al-Mustaqbal University, established in 2010 in Babylon province, is one of the largest private universities in Iraq, currently comprising 11 colleges and 34 scientific and academic departments. He expressed hope that the visit would serve as a significant step toward strengthening their relationship with Cihan University-Erbil.
Subsequently, in a formal ceremony, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, signed an agreement with Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific Supervision and Academic Studies at Al-Mustaqbal University.
After signing the agreement, the President of Cihan University-Erbil stated, “I am pleased today to formalize this collaboration with Al-Mustaqbal University, one of Iraq’s most prominent institutions. This agreement will allow both sides to benefit from each other’s unique technical capabilities and expertise. We are also planning to organize a joint academic conference in the fields of administration, finance, and economics in the near future. Additionally, the agreement emphasizes the establishment of collaborative research groups to conduct high-level original research, the exchange of scientific staff in specialized fields, and the exchange of students. Thus, this agreement will extend beyond the university leadership to encompass academic departments, faculty, and students. The implementation phase is set to begin in the near future.”
On this occasion, the head of the delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University congratulated both universities on the agreement. He remarked, “We are pleased that this agreement encompasses several important initiatives, including joint research, seminars, workshops, and conferences, as well as the exchange of expertise in various fields and the exchange of faculty and students. Additionally, it addresses many other critical issues.”
During his speech, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar S. Al-Zuhairi emphasized the academic and scientific standing of Cihan University-Erbil. He stated, “This is my third visit to Cihan University-Erbil, and I continue to be impressed by its modern campus, state-of-the-art scientific laboratories, and well-equipped lecture halls. Moreover, the atmosphere of coexistence and brotherhood here is palpable.” He expressed hope that the agreement would initiate a period of mutual benefit and that the outcomes would contribute significantly to both scientific advancement and societal service.
