President of Cihan University-Erbil Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the President of Wasit University
As part of Cihan University-Erbil’s ongoing efforts to enhance scientific and academic collaborations with various universities and institutions, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Prof. Dr. Mazen Al-Hasani, President of Wasit University.
The agreement was signed during a meeting between Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, and the President of Wasit University. Following the warm welcome extended to the visiting delegation, the President of Cihan University-Erbil provided a comprehensive overview of the university’s academic departments and its scientific advancements both locally and internationally. He highlighted the achievements of the university’s academic staff and its high standing in local and international rankings, where it often leads among private and public universities in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi also addressed strategies that were implemented for building trust with international institutions concerning various educational programs and provided detailed information on student exchange initiatives, with a particular emphasis on collaborations with Polish universities.
In turn, Prof. Dr. Mazen Al-Hasani, President of Wasit University, provided an overview of their university, detailing their scientific journals, educational systems, and programs, as well as their collaborative initiatives with various universities. He also highlighted the annual scientific conferences held across different disciplines. Dr. Al-Hassani expressed his hope that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with Cihan University-Erbil would elevate the level of scientific relations, introducing in a new phase that would benefit both universities and the broader scientific community.
During another part of the meeting, which included Assistant Professor Sabeeh Lafta Farhan, Vice-Chancellor for Scientific Affairs at Wasit University-Iraq, and Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Sattar Karim, vice president for Administrative and Student Affairs, along with several deans and heads of scientific departments, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Prof. Dr. Mazen Al-Hasani, President of Wasit University.
As per the terms of the agreement, the two universities will collaborate in organizing scientific conferences, seminars, and workshops. They will also facilitate student exchanges, as well as oversee and undertake scientific research activities. Additionally, both parties will collaborate on implementing joint programs locally and internationally, employing each other’s scientific expertise to achieve shared scientific objectives. This collaboration extends to fostering a conducive environment for scientific visits and establishing joint scientific committees in line with the provisions outlined in the agreement.
Following the formalization of the agreement, both the President of Cihan University-Erbil and the President of Wasit University expressed their congratulations on the successful signing and expressed optimism regarding its potential as a beneficial gateway for both institutions.
