College of Dentistry Conducts Scientific Visit to No. 1 Dental Spa Polyclinic

On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, third-stage students from the College of Dentistry conducted a scientific visit to No. 1 Dental Spa Polyclinic, located in Ankawa, Erbil, near Mariamana Hospital.

The visit was organized under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Marios Nozad Odeesh and Assistant Lecturer Ghufran Muslem Aqeel. The students were warmly welcomed by Dr. Marios Nozad, the owner and operating specialist of the polyclinic.

During the visit, the students toured various clinical departments, including pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, radiology (CBCT), preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry, and aesthetic dentistry.

The students were also introduced to advanced dental technologies, including the Waterlase laser system, digital intraoral scanners, and the Sirona chairside CAD/CAM system. These demonstrations provided valuable insights into the applications of modern technologies in dental practice.

Additionally, the students received an informative explanation of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), including its working principles and its importance in dental diagnosis and treatment planning.
