Department of Accounting Students Visit the Erbil Treasury

On Sunday, 18 January 2026, first-stage students from the Accounting Department at Cihan University–Erbil visited the Erbil Treasury of the Kurdistan Region under the supervision of Lecturer Rebin Bilal Mohammed. The students were warmly received by the Vice Director of the Erbil Treasury, Mr. Aso Karim Aziz.

During the visit, the students were introduced to the practical aspects of public sector accounting and financial control. The Head of Accounts, Mr. Huner Najat Abdelhamid, provided a comprehensive overview of the Treasury’s role, explaining its organizational structure, core responsibilities, and daily operations related to the management of public funds.

Mr. Huner also explained the procedures involved in disbursing government payments, monitoring public revenues, and controlling expenditures. In addition, he presented a detailed practical example of processing an expense, clearly outlining each stage—from submitting the financial request to recording and tracking the transaction within the official accounting and control systems.

At the end of the visit, Lecturer Rebin Bilal Mohammed expressed his appreciation to the Vice Director of the Erbil Treasury, Mr. Aso Karim Aziz, and the Head of Accounts, Mr. Huner Najat Abdelhamid, for their warm reception and informative explanations. He emphasized the importance of such scientific visits in enhancing students’ practical understanding of their academic studies.
