Media Department Holds Field Activity to Support Western Kurdistan

As a national and patriotic duty and an expression of solidarity with the resilient people of Western Kurdistan, students of the Media Department conducted a field activity on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, to support the Kurds of Western Kurdistan. The activity was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Azwar Mahdi Qasim Agha, Head of the Media Department.

The activity took place in the public market of the Newroz neighborhood under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal Hama Karim, with the participation of students from the second and third levels of the Media Department at Cihan University–Erbil. During the activity, students distributed Kurdistan flags and printed slogans to citizens in the market to express the students’ stance against the oppression, occupation, and persecution carried out by the Syrian government against the Kurds of Western Kurdistan, which have led to the displacement and suffering of civilians in Kurdish areas. The printed materials also conveyed patriotic and national sentiments.

The participating students emphasized that such activities will continue as a form of moral support until peace and stability are restored in Western Kurdistan and all displaced persons are able to return with dignity to the lands of their fathers and grandfathers.
