Department of Business Administration Conducting a Voluntary Artistic and Handicraft Initiative for Children with Down Syndrome
On February 29, 2024, students from the Department of Business Administration at Cihan University collaborated with the Maple Tree Organization and Bright Petrozone Company to organize a voluntary art and craft activity for the pupils of the Awat Institute for Down Syndrome. The initiative involved utilizing recycled materials with no adverse effects on the environment.
The primary objective of the activity was to enhance the integration of children with Down Syndrome into society and alter their daily school routines. The aim was to provide them with a sense of accomplishment through engaging in creative handicraft activities.
The event commenced with students from the Department of Business Administration designing handicrafts and artistic works on paper. These designs were then implemented collaboratively with children with Down Syndrome, using recycled raw materials that posed no harm to the environment. The voluntary artistic activity fostered an atmosphere of joy and happiness. The children of the Awat Institute expressed their happiness through joyous smiles upon completing the handicrafts with the students of Cihan University.
It is worth mentioning that this activity is not the first collaboration with the Awat Institute for Down Syndrome. It follows a series of previous activities, including the notable marathon held last year at Cihan University – Erbil.
