Exchange of Perspectives Between English Department Students of Cihan University-Erbil and Salahaddin University During a Visit
On February 28th, 2024, the English Department of Cihan University-Erbil hosted an event that brought together students from the English Department of Salahaddin University. Accompanied by three esteemed lecturers, Dr. Hayder Sabir Hasan, Dr. Bukhari Abdullah Rasool, and Mrs. Reka Husamaddin Yasin, the visiting students engaged in a vibrant exchange of ideas with their counterparts from Cihan University’s English Department. The focus of their discussion was the nature of creativity, delving into debates on whether it stems from innate talent or is a result of accumulated experience. Furthermore, the conversation took an intriguing turn towards the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing creativity across various sectors, with a particular emphasis on its potential impacts on education.
Following the intellectual exchange, the guests were taken on a tour around Cihan University, showcasing its facilities and academic environment. A highlight of the visit was the “Kurdish Home” and the “Cultural Center,” which provided the visitors with insights into the rich cultural heritage and academic ethos of Cihan University. Ms. Frishta,Mohammad Abdulla along with a group of English students from Cihan, played the role of hosts, guiding the guests through the university’s landmarks and engaging in meaningful conversations about the significance of each site.
This event underscored the importance of academic collaboration and cultural exchange between universities. It not only offered a platform for students to explore and debate critical topics such as creativity and the role of technology in education but also fostered a sense of community and mutual understanding among participants from different institutions. The visit by the students and faculty from Salahaddin University to Cihan University marks a step forward in building bridges between academic communities and enhancing the educational experience through shared knowledge and cultural appreciation.
