Department of Informatics and Software Engineering Students Conduct a Scientific Visit to Robot Café

A group of third-year students from the Department of Informatics and Software Engineering at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a scientific visit to Robot Café under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Adil Hussein Mohammed.

During the visit, the students observed the robots in operation and learned about their functions and working mechanisms.

Mr. Azad Hassan Rashid, the founder of Robot Café, welcomed the students and expressed his pleasure at hosting a group from Cihan University–Erbil. He explained that the café aims to use modern technologies to provide more efficient customer service. He also noted that each of the café’s four robots performs a specific task.

Mr. Azad also highlighted Mr. Adil’s role as the project team leader and explained how the project had developed from its initial stages to its final implementation. During the visit, Mr. Adil provided a detailed explanation of the system’s components, including the ordering screens and the process through which customer orders are transmitted to the appropriate robot based on each customer’s request.

 Once payment is completed, either electronically or through a payment machine, the order is sent to the designated robot, which prepares the requested item for the customer.

The project team consisted of members from three local universities. The team leader was from Cihan University–Erbil, while the first programmer was from the University of Duhok. The second programmer and an engineer were from Salahaddin University–Erbil.

Through collaboration and teamwork, the members successfully brought the project to its final stage.

Mr. Azad emphasized that the project represents the first initiative of its kind in Kurdistan and Iraq. He added that it marks the beginning of a new era in science and technology through the advanced technologies incorporated into the robots.
