Department of Medical Laboratory Analysis Visit the Al Tabib Laboratory
On Sunday, January 26, 2025, second-stage students from the Department of Medical Laboratory Analysis at Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Sally Khalil Baqer, visited Al Tabib Laboratory.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Zaryan, who explained the main sections of the laboratory. Due to the large number of students, he divided them into two groups to facilitate a more detailed explanation of the devices, ensuring that the students could understand the basics of the various laboratory equipment and their functions.
During the visit, Mr. Zaryan explained the operation of the CBC device, which accurately examines the main components of blood and their proportions. He then moved on to other devices, including those used to measure hormones and vitamins, as well as a third device for chemical analyses, such as examining fat percentages and assessing liver and kidney functions. Additionally, he demonstrated a device for measuring mineral levels in the blood, enabling the students to later write reports on these devices. Furthermore, he offered advice on best practices in medical laboratories to prevent errors and ensure accurate results, emphasizing the importance of verifying results multiple times and not relying solely on the device’s output.
At the end of the visit, Assistant Lecturer Sally expressed her gratitude to Mr. Zaryan for the valuable insights he shared with the students.
