DEPARTMENT OF TRANSLATION STUDENTS VISITED THE SPEEDA TV CHANNEL

On May 11, 2023, the Department of Translation involving the third-year students visited the Speeda TV channel. The activity was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Fereydon Rasouli.

There, the heads of reception and administration committees welcomed the visitors. Next, the Subtitling and dubbing director gave them a brief description of the dubbing process. Later, the teacher and students visited the channel`s translation desk where its manager talked about the process and problems of news translation and interpreting. The visitors` subsequent questions enriched the meeting. The supervising teacher, on behalf of the head and teaching staff of the translation department, expressed their gratitude for the Station`s hospitality.

The main purpose of these activities is to familiarize the translation department students with the challenges of authentic translation including written, oral, and audiovisual translation.
