Interior Design Engineering Students Visit a Home and Office Furniture Design and Manufacturing Company

On Thursday, 14 November 2024, the Department of Interior Design Engineering at Cihan University, under the supervision of the department chair and Assistant Professor Dr. Sarkot Nooradin, organised a scientific field trip for third-year interior design students. The visit was to Niyazi Hedar Company, a specialised manufacturer of home and office furniture in Erbil.

During the visit, students were introduced to various types of furniture, their uses, design processes, and commercial manufacturing techniques. The company’s production supervisor welcomed the students and provided detailed explanations of the production stages, from raw material entry into the factory to the finished furniture pieces reaching the market as products.

The students attended a lecture on modern materials used in furniture manufacturing and engaged in discussions with company officials. These interactions enhanced their understanding of new materials, manufacturing techniques, machinery, and assembly processes. The students toured the factory sections to observe all stages of production and manufacturing.

At the end of the visit, the supervising instructor expressed gratitude to the company for its cooperation and for facilitating an enriching experience for the students.
