Outstanding Participation of Cihan University – Erbil in National and International Sports Events

As part of the Iraqi Basketball Federation’s First Division Final Round activities, Dr. Zaman Salih Hassan an international referee and lecturer in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Cihan University – Erbil participated in officiating the final matches. The event was held over five days, from April 7 to 11, 2025, at the indoor sports hall of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Salahaddin University-Erbil. These significant matches concluded with the qualification of three First Division clubs for the Iraqi Premier League, where they will compete in the upcoming Iraqi Professional League season.

In addition, Dr. Zaman Salih Hassan also took part in the Annual Festival for International and Private Schools in the Kurdistan Region, held on Saturday, April 12, 2025. The festival was organized and supervised by the International School of Choueifat, with the participation of more than 32 schools. The event featured various sports competitions, including football, basketball, athletics, and swimming. Dr. Zaman served as a referee for both the qualifying and final basketball matches for boys and girls, further showcasing his expertise and dedication.

Dr. Zaman Salih is widely recognized as one of the most distinguished basketball referees in Iraq, known for his extensive experience, professionalism, and high-level officiating skills. His contributions continue to earn him respect and admiration in both the sports and academic communities.
