Teacher Physical Presence and Movements in Class
Within the activities of the Biomedical Sciences Department/ College of Sciences A workshop was held on Monday 12th of April 2021 at 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. which was entitled “Teaching as Role Models” in the VIP hall of Cihan University, Assistant Lecturer Dashne A. Saeed presented a seminar entitled “Teacher Physical Presence and Movements in Class”.
The major aims of the lecture were as follows:
- How to teach effectively focusing on the ‘physical movements in the class.
- The way the teachers stand and their body language
- teacher movement may affect learners understanding which depends on the position and using body language
- the importance of going to the back of the classroom, especially for the teachers who use the board a lot
- when teachers show a video, he\she must not stand in front of the class so as not to distract their attention. For that reason, teachers have to move in class whenever it is necessary.
The head of the department, staff members, students, professors, researchers, and guests from Cihan University and other universities attended the lecture. Discussion and questions followed the session to enrich the topic with further information and experience. The lecture was ended with a set of recommendations concerning the topic.
