The Biomedical Sciences Department Students Attended the Cell Biology Course

On Thursday, January 18th, 2023, first-year Biomedical Sciences Department students of Cihan University – Erbil received lectures at Hawler Medical University as part of their Cell Biology course for the current semester.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by Assist. Prof. Dr. Dhahir Tahir Ahmed, a Lecturer at Hawler Medical University. They visited various laboratories at the College of Medicine under the supervision of their course instructor, Prof. Dr. Merza Hamza, to attend lectures related to the aforementioned course. These sessions complemented their previous theoretical and practical lectures received at Cihan University – Erbil.

The students had direct access to the Physiology Laboratory and Anatomy Laboratory, where they received lectures on Cell Biology, Anatomy, and cadavers from academic staff at the College of Medicine. The students later visited the Anatomy Museum Laboratory, providing them with the opportunity to observe the available cadavers. Through these cadavers, the students gained insights into real bodies, muscles, etc.

Before departing from Hawler Medical University, the students provided feedback indicating that their understanding of the Cell Biology course had increased by the end of the day. According to them, they were pleased with the real-life learning opportunity outside the classroom provided by their Biomedical Sciences Department for the aforementioned course.
