The Biomedical Sciences Department Students Attended the Medical Mycology Course at the Shadi Center

On September 24th, 2023, third-year Biomedical Sciences Department students of Cihan University – Erbil received lectures at the Shadi Center as part of their Medical Mycology course taken in the current semester. The lectures received on this date were a continuation of their previous lectures and lessons of this course gained in the usual classroom at Cihan University – Erbil.

The students went to the aforementioned Center under the supervision of their Medical Mycology course instructor, Dr. Nibras Abdulkareem. Students’ attendance was compulsory, as it aimed to increase their understanding of this course.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by Dr. Dindar Sharif, Manager of the center.  The students later received a series of lectures delivered by the Shadi Center staff. In addition, the students were exposed to the most advanced Mycology laboratory tests available at that center which are related to the Biomedical Sciences field. These included sampling, transportation, and processing of samples. In-depth explanations and demonstrations of how to perform each test were provided for students’ knowledge.

By the end of the day, all students expressed their enormous enjoyment and satisfaction of the knowledge gained. They thanked the Biomedical Sciences Department for providing them with such a great learning opportunity outside the classroom.
