The Department of Business Administration Organizes a Scientific Visit to the R.A.Q Factory for Producing Precast Pre-Stressed Concrete Lintel
On 25-10-2021, the Department of Business Administration organized a scientific visit for third-year students to the R.A.Q factory for producing pre-stressed concrete Lintel, under the supervision of the Lecturer Sahar Jalal Fattah and Assistant Lecturer Bushra Ali.
R.A.Q factory was established four years ago and since then the factory has supplied equipments for many giant projects in Erbil and other Iraqi governorates, (Ganjan City, Iskan Project, Al-Zaiton City, Rona Towers, Life Towers and the Lebanese Village, etc.). The factory is the first in Iraq for producing this kind of concrete Lintels, which is characterized by many advantages, including a 25% reduction in production costs, the completion of the production process in all of its stages in minimum time, its conformity with international standards specifications, its commensurate with all types of buildings, the lack of need for skilled workforce, and high fire resistance designing.
The visit included a field tour to clarify the mechanism of producing Precast Pre-stressed concrete Lintel under the supervision of the plant manager Engineer Shwan Muhammad Al-Naqshbandi. He explained the process in the production line thoroughly and clarifies the steps as below:
-Importing rebar, cutting it according to the desired length for the production line, connecting it with special anchor, and preparing it for the casting process.
-Designing the concrete mix according to the required specifications for the product, purchasing and preparing raw materials (sand, gravel, cement, other additives) and mixing them through special batching plant.
– Erecting the concrete Lintel casting machine, transferring the concrete to the casting machine, and then starting the casting process on the production line.
At the end, the students asked their own questions and received comprehensive answers. They stated that the visit was really interesting and it is a crucial part of their learning procedure at the university.
