The Department of Translation hosted Professor from the University of Salento – Italy

On Sunday, February 26, 2023, the Department of Translation hosted Professor Dr. “David Mark Katan” from the University of Salento – Italy, in the presence of the Head of the Translation Department, Dr. Sirwan Aminzadeh, the department’s faculty and students.

Professor Katan gave a scientific lecture on translation sciences and linguistics in Hall (105) in which he talked about the importance of studying translation as a scientific and professional field, and expressed his admiration for the method of the department that depends on the progression and developing from the first stage to the fourth stage, especially consecutive translation, interpretation and translation, and how to apply and benefit from them, including seizing job opportunities.

At the end of the lecture, the lecturers and students asked a number of questions related to translation, to which Professor Katan answered scientifically and professionally, in a way that enhances students’ understanding of linguistic concepts and foundations.
