The Media Department encourages its students to grow in their ability in the areas of drama and cinema

At Cihan University-Erbil, the head of the media department organized a scientific trip for students to oversee the production team of a drama series in Erbil Citadel to enhance their skills and talents.

On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, third-stage media department students visited a staff member making a drama directed by Hassan Ali under the guidance of assistant lecturer Ranjdar Ranjdar Rizgar.

The film staff, in particular Hassan Ali, the director, Hardi Hassan, the director of production, Ibrahim Ramazan, the assistant director of planning, and Hawkar Farhad, the director of photography, extended a warm welcome to the supervisory teacher and the media department students. They then discussed the production and revealed that it is produced by Kurdistan TV.

During the time of the discussion, the students gained knowledge about how drama works for television, including how to shoot, produce, and act simultaneously. They also asked many questions about the production, including the roles and responsibilities of the staff in the drama series. The staff responded to the students’ questions explaining that because the drama is historical in nature, the location is one of the most sensitive subjects, and we must all handle it with caution.

Eventually, the supervisor expressed gratitude to the directors, production team, and drama series director for their collaboration and cooperation in introducing students to a different facet of media, particularly drama and its production process.
