The Medical Microbiology Department Students Visited the Erbil Orphanage
On Saturday, October 21st, 2023, a group of the Medical Microbiology Department students, consisting of those in their 3rd and 4th year of studies, visited the Erbil orphanage. This visit was part of the ongoing efforts to support and care for children living in difficult circumstances, as well as a part of the civic engagement activities that students undertake in various aspects of life. The visit was supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ameena Sabah Jumaa, Head of the Department of Medical Microbiology, Cihan University-Erbil. The students were welcomed by Mr. Shirwan Abdulrahman Hussein, the official in charge of the orphanage.
The visit began with a warm and touching interaction between the volunteers and the children, who welcomed the guests with bright smiles and open hearts. The volunteers organized joyful entertainment activities, including games and interactive sessions, which led to expressive smiles and laughter reflecting happiness and joy in the children’s spirits.
Additionally, the volunteers provided moral gifts to lift the children’s morale. The children expressed their deep gratitude and happiness for this kind of gesture. The visit also included encouraging the children to study and develop their academic levels, emphasizing its significant needs in their lives for the future.
The administration of the orphanage emphasized the importance of such humanitarian visits and their significant role in strengthening bonds of love and solidarity within the community.
