5th International Conference on Biomedical and Health Sciences at Cihan University-Erbil Concludes, with Key Recommendations and Proposals
On Wednesday and Thursday, March 6-7, 2024,Cihan University-Erbil, under the auspices of Dr. Aram Mohammad Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in collaboration with the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Poland and the College of Medicine, University of Babylon in Iraq,, and with the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Governor of Erbil, academics, researchers, experts, and university professors, successfully conducted the fifth International Scientific Conference. This event concluded with the presentation of numerous recommendations and initiatives, signifying the successful completion of its agenda.
During the two days of the conference, 140 research papers across six different tracks were presented by both local and international researchers and experts. Following the presentation of all research papers, the conference participants engaged in a series of questions directed at the researchers, enriching the conference’s discussions with insightful observations and scientific critiques. This created a vibrant scientific exchange among the conference participants, while researchers responded to the inquiries, comments, and feedback from the attendees.
On Thursday, March 7, 2024, the conference program at Cihan University-Erbil concluded with a formal closing ceremony in the university’s Conference Hall. Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, delivered a speech, extending a warm welcome to the attendees while emphasizing the significance of the conference’s themes and the research shared. He remarked on the contemporary nature and applicability of the presented content, underscoring its pertinence to the current and future fields of health and medicine.
At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Amjad S. Al-Delawi expressed his special thanks to all those who contributed to the success and organization of the conference, particularly their partners from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Poland and the College of Medicine, University of Babylon in Iraq. He also thanked the scientific and preparatory committees for their six months of relentless work, as well as the administrative and financial, communications, information technology, reception, and conference hall organization committees, and all researchers and professors for their valuable participation that enriched the conference themes.
Subsequently, Assistant Professor Dr. Ameena Sabah Mahmood, the head of Medical Microbiology Department at Cihan University-Erbil, presented the conference’s outcomes, recommendations, and directives. Throughout the two-day event, a wide array of subjects within the realms of dental medicine, pharmacology, medical microbiology, cell biology, genetics, clinical medicine, and public health were explored. The discussions yielded several significant insights and proposals aimed at enhancing healthcare and medical practices.
In the concluding segment of the conference, Prof. Dr. Amjad S. Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, awarded participation certificates to the contributing researchers and conference organizers, thereby formally concluding the fifth International Conference on Biomedical and Health Sciences. The decision was made to forward the conference’s discoveries, results, and suggestions to the relevant entities for further action and implementation.
