A Workshop on COVID-19 and Mental Health by Medical Microbiology Department

The department of Biology (Medical Microbiology), Cihan University-Erbil, conducted a workshop entitled “COVID-19 and Mental Well-Being” The workshop was opened by Assistant Professor Dr. Ameena S. M. Juma from Cihan University-Erbil and Dr. Hasanen Al-Taiar from Oxford University.

     Dr. Ameena presented her seminar on campus that later it was accomplished online by Dr. Hasanen from Oxford University. The topics covered the main issues that the whole world facec when COVID-19 hit the countries.

     Dr. Ameena highlighted the changes that we had to make in our lives to survive and avoid stress and anxiety.

Dr. Hasanen explained elaborately the impact of COVID-19 on mental health and how to overcome depression, anxiety and trauma.

There was a fruitful discussion after the presentation that motivated the audience to change their perspective towards their lives and to overcome the difficulties everyone is facing during the pandemic.
