On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the Accounting Department at Cihan University–Erbil organized a scientific visit for its second-year students to Fabyab Company for Carton Manufacturing, under the supervision of Dr. Hashem Safi.
The students were warmly received by Mr. Savin Ahmed, Administration Manager; Mr. Ahmed Hilal, Warehouse Manager; and Mr. Abdulrahman Bakr, Accounting Manager. During the visit, the company’s representatives provided a comprehensive overview of the company’s operational and accounting systems, with particular focus on the purchasing, production, and inventory cycles related to carton manufacturing.
Focusing on the Accounting and Warehouse Departments, explanations were provided regarding procedures for receiving raw materials, storing them, issuing materials to production, and recording inventory movements in the accounting records. Special attention was given to internal control procedures applied in warehouses, documentation flow, error detection and correction mechanisms, and the role of accounting in cost control and inventory valuation.
Additionally, the Accounting Manager presented an overview of the company’s accounting practices, including the preparation of financial records and reports, coordination between accounting and warehouse departments, and the importance of accurate documentation in ensuring reliable financial information.
This scientific visit enabled students to link theoretical accounting concepts with real-world applications in an industrial environment, particularly in inventory management, cost accounting, and internal control systems. It also provided an opportunity for students to ask questions and gain deeper practical insight into accounting operations within a manufacturing company.
At the end of the visit, Dr. Hashem Safi expressed his sincere appreciation to Fabyab Company’s management for their warm hospitality and valuable professional explanations, emphasizing the importance of such scientific visits in enhancing students’ practical skills, strengthening university–industry collaboration, and supporting applied learning in accounting education.
