Cihan University-Erbil inaugurates the third pedagogical training course for the teachers of the Ministry of Education.
During the opening ceremony of the third course for teaching methods for the teachers from the Ministry of Education held at Cihan University-Erbil on Thursday, July 25, 2024, Professor Dr. Amjad Sabir Aldalawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, stated in his speech, “Without education, the university cannot function properly and create a generation armed with knowledge for the society.”
At the event, which took place in the university’s conference hall and was attended by several advisors, general directors of the ministry, vice presidents of Cihan University-Erbil, and the participating teachers, Professor Dr. Amjad Sabir Aldalawi initially welcomed the guests. They said: “It is a great honor for Cihan University-Erbil to open the third course on teaching methods to enhance teaching skills (teaching methods) for the teachers of the Ministry of Education. The inauguration of this course comes within the framework of the joint agreement signed with the Ministry of Education.” He clarified that during the previous two courses, participant feedback was received. In this course, attempts were made to resolve deficiencies within the framework of the university and its programs and professors.
Professor Dr. Amjad Sabir Aldalawi also dedicated another part of his speech to talk about education, saying: “We will continue our efforts with the Ministry of Education and try to develop it further, as we believe that universities cannot operate effectively without educating a generation armed with knowledge and information for society,” he added, “because we receive your results, you are the reason of having a healthy education which leads to a healthy society, and a healthy society means healthy education.”
He emphasized that every sector in any field in any society has an educational foundation. “If we want to raise the awareness of the society, we must have a culture of respect for the law and healthy education, and we must obtain good education because education is the base of everything.”
The president of Cihan University – Erbil told the participating professors, “Your work is very important, and so are your courses. Because we are in an era of technology where changes are very rapid, we decided to teach artificial intelligence in all departments of Cihan University-Erbil, so this step must begin in the Ministry of Education, and our university is ready to assist in this area.”
At the end of his speech, he congratulated the participating teachers and expressed his hope that they would participate enthusiastically in the daily lessons to develop their skills and abilities. Then, Mr. Abdullah Argushi, advisor of the Ministry of Education, speaking on behalf of the Minister of Education, said: “The opening of this course for three consecutive years is proof of the care, cooperation, and support of Cihan University-Erbil for the Ministry of Education,” he stated that education is based on number of pillars, but the most impactful one is the teacher.
“Successful teachers can fill gaps and deficiencies in education,” he expressed his hope that this course would enrich and renew the knowledge and information level of the teachers. At the end of his speech, on behalf of the Ministry and the Council of Ministry of Education, he thanked the presidency of Cihan University – Erbil for organizing and managing the course, saying that the inauguration of this course is evidence of Cihan University-Erbil’s sense of social responsibility towards education. “Providing such opportunities will have an impact on the sector, and he stated “ I hope that this coordination and cooperation continue.”
With this, the opening ceremony of the course concluded, and the participating teachers will be theoretically and practically trained by a selection of professors from Cihan University-Erbil and will be introduced to the latest modern teaching methods.
