Communication Session: The accepted researches session report
The opening session of the Department of communication and computer engineering department with the name of ”The new trends in mobile phones and optical communication” was started at 9:00 AM to discuss the accepted researches in Cihan university first international conference.
Dr. Husham J. Ahmed Al-Qaysi Head of the Department of Communication and Computer Engineering started the session with a welcoming speech and also defining himself and the department briefly to the guests then the session management was handed over to Dr. Bassam Zuhair Hassan and Reporter Dr. Balm Salem.
The following researches discussed and presented in details with their results to the audience and the following questions had been asked:
Researcher name: Lecturer Dr. Husham J. Al-Qaysi
Simulation Performance of Frequency Hopping Multiple Access (FHMA) in Wide- and Narrow-band Jamming Environment”
1-What is the application of frequency hopping?
Answer: the applications are vast in all wireless transmission like Bluetooth but mainly are concentrated in military applications because it is very fast.
2- How much faster the hopping that we can achieve?
Answer: it depends on the simulation it is used and the type of program using in this filed
3-Can you explain the band of the jammer?
Answer: the researcher showed the difference and effect the jammer in his results
4- Do you have other results and other scenarios?
Answer: Yes, and the researched showed the results slides.
Researchers names: Asst. Lecturer Yahya S. Adham, Asst. Lecturer Bilal Juboor and Asst. Lecturer Sinan Al-Qasar
“Real-Time Implementation of Non-coherent Receiver”
1-Can you show the frequency range of your work?
Answer: the researcher showed the slides and explained it.
Researchers name: Asst. Lecturer Ghassan A. QasMarrogy
“Performance Evaluation of VOIP Application under MANET Routing Protocols”
1- Can you avoid the Doppler Effect in your system?
Answer: This cannot be avoided because the simulation took into consideration speeds of up to 20 m/sec.
2- Can you use your system for applications like video conference?
Answer: yes it can but with different properties of nodes.
Researchers Names: Prof. Dr. Khalid Al-Khateeb, Asst. Lecturer Muayad Al-Rawi, Asst. Lecturer Muhammed Al-Khateeb and Asst. Lectrer Ahmed Muhammed
“A High Data Rate IR-UWB Transceiver Using Novel Pulses for PLAN”
1-Do you have an antenna design for wide band transmission?
Answer: at this moment we don’t have, but in future we will work with Dr.Husham J. Ahmed from Cihan University to find the new design to append this contribution.
2- The gain of patch antenna is low. Is it possible to continue using it?
Answer: Yes it can be used but it depends on the power transmitted. The FCC regulations do not allow for high power so the antenna gain is not critical
Researcher Name: Asst. Prof. Dr. Sabah Hawar
“Simulation of Signals Propagation through Single Mode Fiber Optics to Predict the Effects of Attenuation and Chromatic Dispersion”
1- Which is more important in optical communication, the attenuation or distortion?
Answer: the attenuation is very important but the limiting factor is dispersion.
Researcher Name: Lecturer Dr. Nagham Hamid
“Robust and Secured Data Hiding Scheme Using Image Steganography”
1- Can we use your algorithm in CCTV?
Answer: sure, it can be used but it needs a lot of real time processing
2- Are your solutions random?
Answer: No, the algorithm selects the best area to embed the information and it is not random.
