On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, second-stage students from the Department of English at Cihan University–Erbil conducted an educational English language activity at Shyaw Private Kindergarten under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Rozhin Hossein Hosseini. Upon their arrival, the university students were warmly received by Ms. Alaa Ayman Abdulla.
The session began with Ruwaida Ahmed Abdulla, who introduced the topic by showing the children an educational video entitled Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes on YouTube. The children enthusiastically watched the video, sang and danced along, and touched the corresponding body parts. She then introduced the basic body parts and encouraged the children to identify and name them.
Following the introduction, Suhaila Sdiq Adham explained the functions of different body parts and how they help people perform everyday activities. Sokar Farhad Anwar continued by highlighting their importance through examples of actions such as seeing, hearing, walking, speaking, and holding objects.
To reinforce the children’s understanding, the university students organized a body parts identification competition. The children were divided into three groups, each guided by a university student representative: Ruwaida Ahmed Abdulla led Group A, Sokar Farhad Anwar led Group B, and Suhaila Sdiq Adham led Group C.
During the competition, each university student called out the name of a body part, and the children in their respective groups were required to touch the correct body part and say its name aloud. The groups competed to identify and name as many body parts correctly as possible. At the end of the competition, Group A, led by Ruwaida Ahmed Abdulla, achieved the highest score and secured first place. Group C, led by Suhaila Sdiq Adham, came in second place, while Group B, led by Sokar Farhad Anwar, secured third place. The activity enhanced the children’s English vocabulary while promoting teamwork, confidence, and active participation through interactive learning.
The activity concluded with a group photo, commemorating the successful educational collaboration between Cihan University–Erbil and Shyaw Private Kindergarten.
