Medical Biochemical Analysis Department Students Conduct Scientific Field Visit to Paki Hospital

On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, a group of fourth-stage students from the Department of Medical Biochemical Analysis at Cihan University-Erbil conducted a scientific field visit to Paki Hospital in Erbil under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Akram Rustaminia.

At the beginning of the visit, the students were received by Dr. Jwan Rashad, Laboratory Director at Paki Hospital, who provided a detailed overview of the hospital’s medical laboratory procedures and operational protocols.

During the tour, the students observed medical specimen collection procedures, including blood and fluid sampling, with a focus on initial sample processing and preparation for chemical analysis.

Furthermore, the students received technical briefings on the operation of centrifuges and automated clinical chemistry analyzers. They also learned about standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control practices used to ensure accurate and reliable laboratory results.

The visit concluded with an interactive discussion between the students and the Laboratory Director, during which they explored technical challenges related to medical sample analysis. The visit provided students with valuable practical insights into clinical laboratory operations and helped strengthen the connection between their academic studies and professional practice.
