College of Pharmacy Students Conduct Health Awareness Seminar at Zhiyar Private Preparatory School
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, a group of second-year students from the College of Pharmacy at Cihan University–Erbil visited Zhiyar Private Preparatory School to deliver an educational and health awareness seminar aimed at promoting healthy practices among school students and strengthening community engagement.
The activity was conducted under the supervision of Ms. Aya Qaisar, Teaching Assistant at the College of Pharmacy. The delegation was warmly received by the school principal, Mr. Azad Ahmed Abdullah.
The seminar began with Mohammed Swar, who introduced Cihan University–Erbil and its College of Pharmacy, highlighting their academic programmes, educational mission, and role in preparing future healthcare professionals.
The programme continued with a presentation on personal hygiene and acne delivered by Mina Mahdi, with contributions from Ms. Aya Qaisar. They explained the importance of proper skincare, personal cleanliness, and healthy daily habits in maintaining skin health and preventing common skin problems.
Omar Delair then delivered an educational presentation on vitamins, explaining their importance to the human body, their role in maintaining overall health, and the significance of obtaining essential vitamins through a balanced diet.
The seminar concluded with a practical first-aid session presented by Areen Ayoub and Ariz Wahid. They introduced essential first-aid principles and demonstrated basic emergency response techniques, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The session provided school students with practical knowledge of how to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
The activity attracted considerable interest and participation from school students, giving them an opportunity to expand their health knowledge and develop practical skills related to personal hygiene, nutrition, and emergency response. Through these educational presentations and practical demonstrations, the visit contributed to raising health awareness and encouraging students to adopt healthier lifestyles.
At the end of the visit, the participating students expressed their sincere appreciation to Mr. Azad Ahmed Abdullah and the school’s teaching staff, on behalf of the College of Pharmacy at Cihan University–Erbil, for their warm reception and cooperation.
