Medical Laboratory Analysis Department Students Visited Path Laboratory

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, third-year students from the Medical Laboratory Analysis Department at Cihan University-Erbil visited Path Lab, a specialized histopathology laboratory. The visit was held under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Omar Abdullah and the guidance of Dr. Sarmad Raheem Karim.

During the visit, Ms. Firdaus Zaher explained the process of preparing tissue samples from biopsy collection to processing, staining, and microscopic examination. She also elaborated on the functions of the microtome device. This visit provided the students with the opportunity to explore the vital role of histopathology in diagnosing various diseases. They actively participated in discussions and asked questions about the field, all of which were thoroughly answered. They were also encouraged to pursue further training and education in this broad and essential discipline.

Throughout the visit, they gained insights into various specialized medical laboratory departments. This experience proved to be an enriching educational opportunity filled with valuable information. At the end of the visit, they expressed gratitude to the staff there for their efforts and comprehensive knowledge given about this field.
