Opening of the Football Tournament for All Departments at Cihan University–Erbil

Under the directive of the Presidency of Cihan University–Erbil, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, and under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the opening ceremony of the University Five-a-Side Football Championship was held in the presence of the department’s academic staff and representatives of all scientific departments.

At the beginning of the event, the Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences delivered a welcoming speech, warmly receiving the representatives of the scientific departments and wishing them success in the tournament. Subsequently, the organizing committee explained the rules and regulations governing the championship to the participants.

Organizing such activities provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen cooperation and interaction among different departments, encourage students to showcase their athletic abilities, and promote the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and acceptance of results.

The event ended with the Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences emphasizing the importance of continuing to organize additional sports championships across various disciplines.
