Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, Renews Memorandum of Understanding with Al-Mustaqbal University
On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, received a delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University led by Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Al-Mustaqbal University.
During the meeting, a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the institutions was renewed to foster academic exchange, strengthen scientific, cultural and research linkages, and advance educational standards.
Necessity of Agreement Renewal
Attended by the Vice Presidents of Cihan University-Erbil, the meeting focused on expanding institutional cooperation and academic exchange. In addition to receiving the visiting delegation, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi highlighted the significance of renewing the initial agreement signed on June 5, 2024. In this context, he outlined Cihan University-Erbil’s scientific infrastructure and qualitative achievements across national and international rankings, where the university consistently maintains leading positions among private universities and top-tier rankings among public and private institutions in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Welcoming the Agreement Renewal
In response, the head of Al-Mustaqbal University’s delegation presented an overview of their institution, expressing satisfaction with renewing the agreement and advancing bilateral relations with Cihan University-Erbil.
Core Provisions for Academic Exchange and Joint Research
The MoU includes several fundamental clauses, such as faculty, researcher, and student exchange programs across varying durations, study seat allocations, and student transfer opportunities.
Furthermore, both universities agreed to conduct joint scientific research, publish studies in high-impact journals published by both entities, and facilitate joint supervision for undergraduate graduation projects, Master’s theses, and Doctoral dissertations across various disciplines.
Workshops and Capacity Building
The agreement emphasizes joint workshops, seminars, and academic conferences. Additionally, it provides for reciprocal field visits and specialized training courses for academic faculty and laboratory technicians to refine administrative performance and advance scientific curricula.
Signing of the Agreement
At the end of the ceremony, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, and Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Al-Mustaqbal University, formally signed the agreement. Both leaders reiterated the vital role of this step in strengthening academic bridges and enhancing the higher education sector between the two institutions.
