Students from the Department of Accounting Conduct a Scientific Visit to the Erbil Real Estate Tax Directorate

On Monday, November 2, 2026, a group of second-year students from the Department of Accounting at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a scientific visit to the Erbil Real Estate Tax Directorate under the supervision of Lecturer Rebin Bilal Mohammed.

Upon their arrival, the students were warmly received by Mr. Serwan Abdulla Bakok, Manager of Administration, who introduced them to the directorate and provided an overview of its organisational structure, daily operations, and role in managing real estate taxation.

During the visit, Mr. Kamal Mohammed Hassan, Head of Accounts, provided the students with a detailed explanation of the accounting procedures involved in real estate tax transactions. He explained how property tax revenues are recorded, financial documents are prepared, tax payments are processed, and accounting records are maintained.

He also discussed the preparation of financial reports, the monitoring of tax collections, and the procedures followed to ensure the accuracy of financial information. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of internal control systems, proper documentation, and compliance with financial regulations in promoting transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the management of public revenues.

The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to understand how accounting and taxation principles are applied in a government institution. It also enabled them to connect the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom with practical accounting procedures while gaining a deeper understanding of the role of real estate taxation in generating public revenue.

At the end of the visit, Lecturer Rebin Bilal Mohammed expressed his sincere gratitude to Mr. Serwan Abdulla Bakok and Mr. Kamal Mohammed Hassan for their warm reception, cooperation, and valuable explanations.
