The Biomedical Sciences Department Organized a Scientific Trip for Its Fourth-Stage Students to Soran Private Hospital

As a continuation of the various learning opportunities provided by the Biomedical Sciences Department for its students, fourth-stage students of the aforementioned department went to Soran Private Hospital on May 10, 2023 (Wednesday). This was held under the supervision of Lecturer Dr. Zeenath Sheikh and Ms. Zahraakhan Maarof.

Upon arrival, the academic staff and students were warmly welcomed by the General Manager of the hospital. The students were later given great learning opportunities which included receiving a series of lectures delivered from the different sections of the hospital such as its laboratories and center.

At Biochemistry Laboratory, explanations regarding various tests such as liver function test, fasting blood glucose test, renal function test, HBA1C test, and hormone test were provided. Lectures on the instances of blood types, how to draw blood for blood transformation, plasma, and whole blood were covered at Blood Bank. As for the Beauty Center, the students were introduced to the different types of lasers, how the laser is used to remove hair, how to draw blood, and blood transformation procedures, including PRP to treat acne, and the various devices to treat skin problems.

On this day, the students participated actively by posing a number of questions related to the different lectures they received.
