The Department of International and Diplomatic Relations Hosts the Representative of Iraq in the United Nations
On Monday, 15/11/2021, the Department of International and Diplomatic Relations hosted the Iraqi Diplomat Dr. Elaf Rajeh (Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations in New York) via the Internet.
The guest gave an important lecture in terms of topic and timing, as he presented the circumstances of Security Council Resolution No. 2576 on the International Mission for International Monitoring of the Iraqi Elections, which was held on the tenth of last month, from the drafting stage to the approval stage, and the diplomatic efforts of the Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations to issue the decision including ensuring the integrity of elections.
The guest also commented on the post-election phase and the report that United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres will deliver before the Security Council about the elections within a month after the election results were announced.
The seminar was attended by students from the Department of International and Diplomatic Relations and the Department of Media, under the supervision of Dr. (Mohanad Abdul Rashid).
