Department of English Language Students Conduct Preposition Competition at Zanst Private Kindergarten

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, third-stage students from the Department of English at Cihan University–Erbil conducted an educational English language activity at Zanst Private Kindergarten under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Rozhin Hossein Hosseini.

Upon their arrival, the students were warmly received by Ms. Shayma Aram Kamal, the class teacher.

The activity focused on teaching basic prepositions through interactive learning. Ali Shahab Jawad introduced common prepositions and explained their meanings to the kindergarten students.

The children actively participated in pronunciation and spelling exercises, demonstrating enthusiasm and engagement throughout the session.

With guidance and support from the university students, they practiced understanding and using prepositions through practical exercises.

Following the introduction, Ali Shahab Jawad divided the kindergarten students into three groups, each led by a university student representative: Tawar Anuar Aziz for Group A, Kazyan Anuar Ali for Group B, and Sokar Farhad Anwar for Group C. Each group received a poster containing preposition exercises to complete as part of the competition.

 Working collaboratively, the children identified the correct prepositions and pasted them onto their respective posters. The group with the highest number of correct answers would win the challenge.

At the end of the competition, Group A, led by student representative Tawar Anuar Aziz, achieved the highest number of correct answers and won the challenge, followed by Group B and Group C. The activity promoted teamwork, active participation, and the development of basic English language skills in a fun and engaging learning environment.

 The event concluded with a group photo to commemorate the successful collaboration between Cihan University–Erbil and Zanst Private Kindergarten.
