Students in Nutrition and Dietetics Department Visit Clinical Laboratory for Allergy Tests
On Wednesday, 3rd of Nov. 2021, third stage students in Nutrition and Dietetics department and under supervision of Mrs. Raghad Jomard the lecturer of Immunity and Nutrition subject, have visited the Shadi Labrotary Center for examining all the tests and services that related to food allergy like egg, wheat , milk ,fish and sea food in addition to some types of fruit and vegetable for example eggplant, banana and kiwi.
The students listened to informative explanations from the specialists who work in the laboratory about the types of tests, mechanism, the procedure and the used reagents of each type.
As well as the ratio of the food allergy incidence in our local community and which common food type cause the allergy, beside the recent technology that used for diagnosis.
These such activities increase the importance of the lab tests as assessment tool for the nutritional statutes and the strong relation between nutrition and other allied medical science.
