Translating English Existential `There` Sentences into Arabic

Assistant Professor Irfan Saeed presented a seminar entitled`Translating English Existential `There` Sentences into Arabic` on 2015/4/21 with the presence of the Head of English and Translation Departments Dr. Imad Rafaat  and a group of teaching staff  and students in both departments.
The seminar tackled strategies which translators adopt to translate sentences which start with existential `there` to convey the most suitable meaning of the word .The topic of the seminar was notably interesting since the existential `there` does not exist in many languages.The attendance raised several interesting points concerning the fact that a high percentage of translators tend to change the whole structure of the sentence to reach an appropriate translation.
