Translation Department Students Deliver Presentations and Motivational Talks at Snobar Girls’ Public Secondary School
On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, second-, third-, and fourth-stage students from the Department of Translation at Cihan University–Erbil delivered presentations and motivational talks at Snobar Girls’ Public Secondary School. The activities were supervised by Assistant Lecturer Zeena Mahmood Ameen. Upon arrival, the students were received by Ms. Nidhal Mustafa Ismail, the school principal, and Ms. Zeena Salah, a teacher.
The first presentation was delivered by Fatimah Adil Ataallah, who provided an introduction to the Department of Translation. She highlighted the courses offered by the department, the role of translation students, and the career prospects available to graduates in the field of translation.
Another presentation, delivered by Abdullah Thamer Abdulrahman, focused on the importance of being bilingual and multilingual for students in the Department of Translation. He emphasized the need to learn English and other languages in addition to Kurdish and Arabic. He also informed them of the opportunity for students to learn German if they choose to enroll in the Department of Translation, highlighting the benefits of acquiring additional languages in an increasingly multilingual environment.
The next presentation by Tawar Anwar Aziz addressed how to become a successful university student. Drawing on her own experience and perceptions as a student at Cihan University–Erbil, she shared practical strategies for adapting to university life, managing academic responsibilities, and making the most of the opportunities available at university.
The final presentation was delivered by Marwan Anwar Abdullah, a senior student in the Department of Translation, who provided motivational advice on the importance of having a clear mind before taking important steps in life. Based on his own experience as a senior student, he encouraged the school students to think carefully before making decisions and taking action. He provided examples related to registering for an academic program, undertaking translation work, and completing assigned tasks, emphasizing the importance of clarity and thoughtful decision-making.
The activities concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session. The presenters thanked the school principal and teachers for their cooperation and for providing them with the opportunity to conduct the activities.
