On the Occasion of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a Workshop was Held in Cihan University -Erbil, University News
In celebration of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department, in collaboration with the Department of Informatics and software Engineering organized an awareness workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence in the Clinic: Revolutionizing Breast Cancer Care”. The workshop took place on Monday, October 14, 2024 in the VIP Hall of Cihan University-Erbil. The presence of a number of faculty members and students, graced the event.
The workshop commenced with an opening speech by Assistant Lecturer Omar Adil Mohammed Ali, the Head of the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department. He welcomed the attendees and expressed gratitude for the support provided by the University’s presidency, especially Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, for the continuous presence and monitoring of all activities and events that align with global advancements. This is particularly crucial for sensitive topics like breast cancer, which has become a global concern.
Following the opening, the workshop featured by four speakers: Dr. Jangi Shawkat Salai, a lecturer from Hawler Medical University provided his insights into the overview of Breast Cancer. Then, Assistant Lecturer Noor Sami Omar from the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department presented a lecture on “Using Radiation in Breast Cancer Detection.” Also, Assistant Lecturer Asma Ameen Ghareeb, from the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department delivered a speech on “Standard Pathological and Laboratory Tests for Procedures in Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Monitoring”. Then, Dr. Fatima Albatoul Husari from the Informatics and Software Engineering Department gave a lecture on “Utilizing Artificial Intelligence for Breast Cancer Detection.”
After the lectures, a Q&A session was held to address questions and input, which received significant engagement and enthusiasm from the attendees.
