Students of Nutrition and Dietetics Department Conduct Laboratory Tests for Many Samples of food in Restaurants
On Wednesday 8/12/2021, and under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Omar Swar and Mrs. Yusra , and with the participation of a group of third-year students in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, and after the inspection tour that had been hold last week for cafeterias and restaurants at Cihan university.
In the visit, they assessed the cleanliness of the place and the tools used and the extent of the commitment of the workers and their interest in personal hygiene. The students took some samples to be examined like ( meat& dairy products ) from the physical and microbial experiments.
They also examined the used foodstuffs, their validity, cleanliness, production and expiry dates, those tests were done in the food and nutrition unit which belongs to Cihan University.
This contribution is considered a practical field training for students, as it contributes to linking the information that students acquire during their theoretical studies, as well as preparing them to experience field work after graduation.
