The Computer Science Department Organized an Educational Workshop for Cihan International School Students

On Thursday, November 26, 2023, a special educational workshop was held in the Computer Science Department at Cihan University – Erbil. The department had the pleasure of hosting students from Cihan International School, accompanied by their dedicated teachers: Ms. Sarah Badran Jalal, who teaches Computer, and Ms. Habiba Siamand Maulood, who teaches Biology at that school. The eighth-grade students of that school actively participated in this workshop.

The workshop covered important topics related to web design, game development, and the use of virtual reality devices. What made this workshop exceptional was the direct interaction between the students and the practical, engaging presentation. This was made possible through the excellent collaboration with students from the third and fourth levels from the Computer Science Department.

Assistant Professor Dr. Reem Jaafar provided an enjoyable explanation of the fundamentals of web design, enabling the students to understand how to practically and attractively develop websites. Additionally, the workshop included an explanation of graphic design and game development, where Assistant Lecturer Alyaa Asaad presented an exciting overview of how to use virtual reality devices and develop video games.

The students’ excellence was evident through their active engagement with the educational content during the workshop. They displayed a clear interest in learning web and video game development and showed strong readiness to continue exploring the fields of computer science and programming languages.
