Translation Department Students Organize an Awareness Activity at Sham Government Preparatory School for Girls

Third-and fourth-year students from the Department of Translation at Cihan University–Erbil visited Sham Government Preparatory School for Girls on Sunday, September 27, 2026, under the supervision of their department head, Lecturer Pola Tahseen Mohammed. They were received by the school principal, Gulistan Wasu Khdr, and the English language teacher, Dr. Jihan Nidhamalddin Abdulsamad. 

As part of the visit, the student Hajar Samko spoke about the importance of regular study and keeping up with lessons, explaining that postponing the study of topics leads to their accumulation and makes them more difficult to understand as examinations approach. Next, the student Diana Samher presented on study time management strategies and the distribution of effort among different subjects, emphasizing the need to pay attention to all subjects and not underestimate any of them. This was followed by the student Aisha Khaled, who spoke about how to deal with difficult subjects and encouraged the students to ask about anything they did not understand and to review topics that require additional time to grasp. The last presenters, Abdullah Thamer and Mohammed Younis, talked about perseverance and diligence in studying, explaining that improving academic performance requires continuous follow-up and consistent effort in all subjects.

At the end of the activity, the students had a fruitful discussion with the presenters about the ways to organize their time, overcoming difficulties in certain subjects, and preparing for examinations. They also asked questions about how to allocate study hours and review accumulated topics effectively. The presenters answered their questions and offered practical suggestions for daily follow-up and for seeking clarification whenever necessary.
