The Biomedical Sciences Department Students Attended the Nutrition, Metabolism, and Diseases Course at the Pharma Laboratory

On January 25th, 2024, as part of a significant academic endeavor, third-year Biomedical Sciences Department students from Cihan University-Erbil delved into the practical aspects of their Nutrition, Metabolism, and Diseases Course through engaging lab tests at the Pharma Laboratory. The students visited the aforementioned laboratory under the supervision of their Nutrition and Metabolism course instructor, Assistant Lecturer. Dr. Sarah Hamid. Upon arrival, they were warmly welcomed by the Technical Supervisor, Mr. Wisam Ahmed, and Lab Technician, Rasul Haji Salih.

The students enthusiastically participated in experiments related to nutrient absorption, metabolism, and nutritional diseases. These tests included analyzing the impact of various diets on metabolic processes, measuring nutrient levels in biological samples, and exploring the intricacies of enzymatic reactions involved in metabolism.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, the students gained hands-on experience in conducting biochemical assays and nutritional diseases. These practical sessions not only reinforced theoretical concepts but also provided valuable insights into the practical applications of nutritional science. The student’s active involvement in these lab tests at the forefront of biomedical research enhances their academic journey and prepares them for future roles in advancing our understanding of nutrition and metabolism.
